About
Welcome to Society Café, a charming sanctuary nestled in the heart of Bristol at 12 Baldwin St. Renowned for its inviting ambiance and expertly crafted beverages, this café is a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike. As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I had the pleasure of indulging in what this delightful establishment has to offer.
From the moment you step inside Society Café, you are greeted with a warm atmosphere and a friendly staff, who are as passionate about their coffee and pastries as they are welcoming to patrons. Customer reviews highlight the exceptional quality of their coffee, often described as "great" and brewed to perfection. It's clear that coffee enthusiasts will find their haven here. The selection extends beyond caffeinated delights, with a diverse array of teas and smoothies available, appealing to every palate.
But the experience doesn’t stop at beverages. I couldn't resist trying the famed carrot cake slice, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The moist cake, punctuated by the richness of nuts, paired beautifully with a soft and luscious icing that melted in my mouth. A review from 'qi tang' encapsulates this perfectly, noting how surprisingly delightful the dessert was—it's a slice I guarantee you’ll want to savor again and again.
Society Café also boasts a cute and cozy interior that invites you to linger a little longer. The vibrant atmosphere undoubtedly enhances the enjoyment of your treat, making it the perfect spot for a quiet afternoon alone or a lively catch-up with friends. Both 'qi tang' and 'Vadym Pinchuk' commend not just the coffee and treats, but the beautiful people who serve them. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly elevate the entire café experience.
In summary, Society Café is much more than just a coffee shop; it’s a community hub that delivers quality and warmth in every cup and bite. Whether you're seeking a caffeine boost or a sweet escape, you will undoubtedly leave with a smile on your face and perhaps a new favorite treat under your arm. Don't miss out on the experience—pay a visit to Society Café. Your taste buds will thank you!
“ I really like this coffee shop. There’s always a good vibe, not too busy, good service, good coffee, and just a nice place to sit and chill. The music is one of my favourite things here.. slow funky jazz type stuff. There’s comfortable seats at the back and tables designated for laptop/no laptop use. Only reason I gave food a 3 star is that there’s not that much of it, just cakes and pastries. ”
“ Staff here are absolutely lovely. Very welcoming and understanding, even when I couldn't find my card and had to step out of line on a busy day. Coffee is very tasty - I had a special they served for Bristol's Pride festival. It was delicious, and unlike any other coffee I've tasted; sweet and fruity! ”
“ Lovely dark hot chocolate. Stumbled across cafe while walking back towards the station and spotted a choice of hot chocolates on the menu! Can tell it was made with proper chocolate too - really good! ”
“ Quite an aesthetic café. Loved their vibe. Staff were amazing They have drinking water tap and a bathroom as well. Perfect for you to spend some time alone, read a book, or get some work done ”
“ Very friendly staff, quick service, tasty hot chocolate - they do loose leaf tea as well which is a big plus for me. Will come again. ”
“ Popped in to share a coffee with a friend visiting Bristol. The staff greeted us to take our order and were very friendly and helpful. I asked about the guest coffee which they kindly offered for no extra charge. I ordered the espresso which was ready at the bar very quickly. I drink espresso every day but this shot was different, it was incredible and so memorable it prompted me to write this review. The shot was juicy and creamy with dark red berry flavours. I parked up at the tasting notes on the board and was amazing when I read “Black Forest gateau”. What I tasted in my mouth very much resembled that, conjuring up memories of enjoying a creamy rich berry dessert. Something special happened in that cup today, hats off to the barista for pulling an incredible shot. I just wish I could remember who the guest roaster and the coffee producer was to try it again soon. ”
“ Great little independent coffee shop, with a lovely genuine community feel, serving a grand selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolates as well as an array of brownies and other delights. Some tables are designated laptop free, which is a great idea! Definitely worth a visit when in Bristol! ”
“ Very centrally located cafe with good coffee and a wide variety of teas, coffees, and smoothies. tried the carrot cake slice, and it was surprisingly nice! The icing on top was soft, and the cake itself was moist and full of nuts. definitely be back for another slice! ”
“ came here with my girlfriend plenty of times. staff is really nice, there are charges and fast wifi. we sat outside and the terrace is in the sun so it was really nice in the afternoons. they have really nice coffee. i ordered a cortado and was served in a glass instead of a cup, just like in my country. greatly appreciated. recommend it ”
